Supplier Diversity Summit To Debut At Streamlining Healthcare Expo

Panel To Feature Leaders From Cardinal Health, Premier, & Henry Ford Health System

Alexandria, VA, Sept. 7, 2022 – Many healthcare entities are working to become more intentional about purchasing healthcare products from diverse suppliers. To support this trend, HIDA is holding a new Supplier Diversity Summit as part of its fall Streamlining Healthcare Expo & Business Exchange.

The Summit will bring diversity suppliers (including women, minority, and veteran-owned businesses) together with trading partners from distributors, group purchasing organizations, and health systems. It will provide a forum for participants to discuss their common challenges and identify opportunities to grow support for diversity companies.

The program, which takes place Sept. 20 in Chicago, kicks off with a panel discussion on what the new healthcare industry looks like for diversity suppliers. Panelists include:

The summit builds off HIDA’s Supplier Diversity Council formed in early 2020 to facilitate the exchange of ideas and communication among distributors, manufacturers, GPOs and IDNs to help address key issues unique to supply businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ community.
