HIDA Joins Working Group To Enhance Supply Chain Resilience
Public, private stakeholders partner with Biden Administration to strengthen supply chains
Alexandria, VA, June 8, 2022 – The Health Industry Distributors Association today announced that it has joined the Joint Supply Chain Resilience Working Group.
“HIDA is proud to offer our private-sector perspective on how to best strengthen healthcare product supply chains,” said HIDA President and CEO Matthew J. Rowan. “The best way to respond to a public health crisis is by utilizing what both the public and private sector do best. These partnerships build on what we have learned from each other and will keep us prepared going forward.”
As part of implementing the National Strategy for a Resilient Public Health Supply Chain, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is engaging experts from the private sector and across the government to share best practices, identify threats, and mitigate risks to make U.S. supply chains stronger. This team, called the Joint Supply Chain Resilience Working Group, will offer near-real-time information-sharing and collaboration to tackle steady state and emerging risks and build toward a more agile, visible, and robust U.S. public health supply chain.
More than 200 industry and government partners have come together to establish the Joint Supply Chain Resilience Working Group as part of the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council.
Through subject-specific task groups of experts, the Joint Supply Chain Resilience Working brings together implementation teams, federal experts, and the private sector to achieve three priority objectives: foster information-sharing, collaborate to identify supply chain resilience priorities, and ensure that the path to a more resilient healthcare and public health supply chain is jointly established by the federal government and industry partners.
