The post-acute healthcare market includes skilled nursing facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long-term acute care. Post-acute services follow or are in place of a hospital stay, and include both short-term and long-term care. The goal of post-acute services is to further recovery and prevent re-hospitalization.
